NC Software started developing software solutions while serving in the United States Air Force as an A-10 Weapons Instructor Pilot. Stationed in Germany, Neal, the owner and President of NC Software, had a tedious task of tracking weapons delivery expenditures and Top Gun competitions for the A-10 squadron pilots. Baffled with the task at hand, Neal turned to those new personal computers the Air Force began to start placing throughout.  Realizing the tremendous need to “find a better way,” Neal’s passion summed up in a few words, he later developed Top Gun 97. Top Gun 97 is still in use today, almost 10 years later for weapons tracking and Top Gun competition use.

Now with a passion in “making that computer do something” the goal was to revolutionize how pilots would maintain their flight logbooks. Finding paper record keeping an impossible task for calculating currencies, filling out insurance forms, and pilots leaving the military preparing for airline jobs, Neal pioneered the electronic flight logbook that would revolutionize the aviation industry.  Logbook Pro was born. After two years of research and development, Logbook Pro entered the market in early 1998. Now the standard for pilots today, Logbook Pro is the leading aviation flight logbook solution and expanding exponentially. Logbook Pro is now endorsed by Sporty’s Pilot Shop as the “Finest Electronic Logbook around” and we are proud to be affiliated with the world’s largest aviation superstore.

After releasing Logbook Pro and seeing the hunger of the people wanting to make use of their new personal computers, we realized it was time to organize our media collections.  With the challenge of keeping track of serial numbers of our new software purchases, preventing duplicate album purchases, and most of all, making sure we get back what we loan out, AVCataloger was developed. Modeled after the ingenious Microsoft Outlook interface, we adopted all of the ease of use and customizing abilities of Microsoft Outlook and built this into a media cataloging solution.  Breaking down the organizer into four main areas; music, video, books, and software, we found we had something many people needed. AVCataloger is a tremendous success and we continue to enjoy the global reach of this unique software application.

With NC Software’s business growing rapidly and inventory growing both from internal software creations as well as third party support, we needed to take our online commerce to the next level. We built out our new store and realized a tremendous technology gap with e-commerce providers providing not only sub-standard solutions, but also solutions tremendously lacking in features.  Realizing merchants in dire need of gaps filled, we expanded a third division of NC Software, our e-commerce division.  NC Software maintains three dedicated divisions; Aviation, Media, and E-Commerce as its vision for the future.
